FAQ
What is a Lebanese Doudou Shot?
A Lebanese Doudou Shot is a savoury, bracing shooter typically made with arak or vodka and garnished with a green olive. It’s known for its strong, clean flavour and is often served as a palate cleanser or aperitif.
Why does the Doudou Shot include an olive?
The olive adds a salty, briny note that complements the sharpness of the alcohol and reflects Mediterranean drinking traditions, where olives are often paired with spirits.
Is arak used in all Doudou Shots?
Not always. While some versions use arak to highlight local flavour, others use vodka for a cleaner, more neutral base. The garnish and presentation tend to remain consistent either way.
